FEARLESS WOMEN

Kristin Decker

Kristin Decker inspires audiences everywhere to affect social change. Her passion for community engagement began when she ran 4,000 miles across the United States for young adults battling cancer. She ran in memory of her friend Matthew Peterson, who passed away after a battle with multiple myeloma. Matt’s friendship is a constant inspiration in her life. In one of his final letters to her, he wrote: “You will touch lives”. Kristin considers this to be her life’s motto, and she applies this message to her volunteering efforts. A project that is close to Kristin’s heart is Urban Bicycle Food Ministry (UBFM). Individuals involved with this project deliver food and necessities to people affected by homelessness, and they do so through cycling. Not only does UBFM give Kristin an opportunity to give back but being involved with UBFM also helped Kristin to overcome her fear of cycling. She is so passionate about the mission that she carried it with her to her new home: Kristin is the Founder of UBFM Colorado Springs! For Kristin, facing her fear inspired her to seek new experiences that initially seemed intimidating, and doing so has had a profound impact on her life. She recently spoke to 25,000 high school students about her life-threatening experience with bullying and mental health. She has received very positive feedback about her speech, and she plans to continue sharing her thoughts about bullying and mental health across the country. Kristin earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of Memphis. When she isn’t affecting social change through volunteering, speaking, and working her daily profession, she enjoys outdoor activities and hanging out with loved ones. For Kristin, leaving her unmistakable sparkle with everyone she meets is an important, lifelong endeavor that she hopes to fulfill every day.

My Story

Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

Bullying prevention is close to Kristin’s heart because she was bullied from the time she was in sixth grade through her senior year of high school. While Kristin endured bullying, she also battled an eating disorder, depression, suicidal thoughts and body dysmorphia. Kristin inspires everyone to know that we all go through something. Whatever that something is, it does not define who we are. In fact, our experiences can be the one thing we use to bring hope to others who are walking a similar journey.

VICTORIOUS WOMEN

Laticia Thompson

“If your dreams don’t scare you then they aren’t big enough.” Laticia (Tish) Thompson, born and raised in Joliet, IL, embodies this sentiment. For much of her life she has taken deliberate steps to challenge the status quo, test her limits, and step into fear vs. run away from it. Attending high school graduation four months pregnant motivated Tish to defy the stereotypes that are associated with being a teenage mom. She made it her mission to build a comfortable life for her family and knew that a college education was the key. In addition to her business degree, she holds a Master of Science degree in Management and Organizational Behavior with concentrations in Human Resources and Organizational Development. Tish is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Business Psychology.

Stepping outside of her comfort zone, Tish founded a management consulting firm called Legacy Blueprint, LLC. The firm was birthed to help organizations and individuals maximize their fullest potential. Legacy Blueprint, LLC partners with organizations to provide the blueprint for strategy cultivation and execution, staff and leadership development, executive coaching and employee engagement support. Because of the success of her firm she was faced with having to make one of the toughest decisions in her career: play it safe and remain in her steady, well-paying job, or step out on faith and pursue her dream of growing her business. She stepped out on faith and hasn’t looked back.

Tish is described by many as a dedicated mom of four, a trailblazer, an infectious motivational speaker and facilitator, a passionate entrepreneur, and a five time marathon finisher. Tish is passionate about giving back to the community and will soon be launching a not-for-profit organization for pregnant teens. Are her dreams big enough? Absolutely!! She will tell you she’s terrified… in a good way!

Unleash Your Inner Superstar

Get this — in a moment of madness – I answered an ad to be a singer in a Rock ‘n’ Roll band after not singing for 35 years. When I did it, everyone wanted to hear HOW I did it, and wished they could live their dreams, too. So, I documented the steps I followed, and now I’m sharing it with everyone, so we can all have a bigger impact in this world. Through my “Unleash Your Inner Superstar” Keynote, these steps are uncovered by my “GoGaGa” process to inspire audiences to step out of their comfort zone and recognize it is never too late to realize their full potential.
