Dr. Katherine (Katie) Waller

Dr. Katherine “Katie” Waller is a native Houstonian, and likes living near her childhood community where she is raising two daughters with her husband. She has many roles—dance mom, soccer mom, tutor, fanatic fan, pseudo-Uber driver, and guide on the side. She enjoys reading, dance, dry humor, and learning people’s stories.

Dr. Waller is the owner and president of Vantage HRO, an HR consulting company in Houston. Over the last twenty years she has primarily focused on developing leaders and internal systems in a variety of industries. At Vantage, Dr. Waller and her team help clients create a people strategy that is aligned with their business strategy and goals. She believes that with people, you can achieve any business dream.

Dr. Waller has a doctorate in education in learning, design, and technology from the University of Houston. She recently completed her dissertation, focusing on strategies that teach interpersonal communication to leaders. Dr. Waller’s background has a strong human resource specialty focus, centered around leadership development and coaching, organizational development, compensation, and process improvement. She has worked at several large organizations in Houston, including Compaq (a Fortune 500 company) and Texas Children’s Hospital. She also served her hometown community as a classroom teacher specializing in math. She participates with local Texas A&M organizations to stay connected with the university from which she received her bachelor of science.

With Katie’s passion for helping others and the enthusiastic spirit of her HR team, they continue to help companies achieve success on a daily basis. Her company works with all types of industries, including oil and gas, healthcare, accounting, homebuilders, and manufacturing companies.
