Dr. Katrina Nguyen
Dr. Katrina Nguyen is an award-winning, board-certified pediatric gastroenterologist, keynote speaker, international best-selling author, and founder of a nonprofit to fight childhood obesity. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford.
She has shared her expertise via EWTN Global Catholic Network, YMCA podcast, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
She was just 14 months old when her family escaped by boat from Communist Vietnam in April 1975 after the Fall of Saigon. She nearly died twice during her journey to freedom and to live the American Dream.
Dr. Nguyen provides telemedicine services through MyCatholicDoctor and serves as a locum tenens physician. Her Christian faith drives her to serve others. She established a charity fund with Raymond James, and her nonprofit’s sponsors include Chick-fil-A and Panera Bread.
She was nominated for the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award in 2016 and 2017. She was awarded the Faculty and Staff Aureus Award from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2017. She was nominated for the Crusader Community Health Annual Spirit of Caring Award, only one of seven nominees in the Rockford region in 2018.
Dr. Nguyen lives in Illinois with her husband, Dr. Marconi Deladisma. She enjoys being a dog mom, gardening, and traveling.
